Nitrogen Assessment
The National Park Service (NPS) is requesting information on the interest and qualifications of potential investigators(s) to assist with a project to assess the risk of nitrogen deposition to natural (and potentially cultural) resources in the Four Corners area. Responses to this request will be used to identify potential investigator(s) for a pilot project that will be funded by the NPS, Air Resources Division in 2010. Funding level is anticipated to be approximately $60,000, for the pilot study, with potential for additional funding in later years for a more comprehensive study.
Winderness Fellow
The Wilderness Stewardship Division of the National Park Service (NPS) is seeking to fill up to four ‘Wilderness Fellow’ positions. Each Wilderness Fellow will work to directly support the goals of Together Wild, a collaborative wilderness stewardship planning initiative currently underway in the NPS.
USFWS Assistance
The US Fish & Wildlife Service CoastalProgram is a non-regulatory, voluntary program capable of providing bothtechnical and financial assistance for on-the-ground habitat restorationprojects. We are
looking for project ideas and proposals to helpus accomplish our program objectives. The Coastal Program
is an assistanceprogram rather than a grant program, therefore it is important to engagein dialogue
regarding project ideas prior to proposal submission.
Toxic Air
On behalf of the Sierra Nevada-Southern Cascades (SNSC) Toxics coordination group, the National Park Service (NPS), U.S. Forest Service (FS) and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) are requesting information on the interest and qualifications of potential investigators to design a research and monitoring plan for toxic air contaminants in ecosystems of the SNSC within the State of California.
